AI ECHOES: THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN POETRY & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

I’ve always believed in pushing the boundaries of creative expression, so when the opportunity arose to explore how artificial intelligence could interact with my poetry, I knew I had to dive in. The project I’m about to share with you is called "AI Echoes," and it’s been an eye-opening journey into the world where human creativity meets machine learning.

The Birth of AI Echoes

It all started with a simple question: What would happen if I fed my poetry into an AI platform? How would a machine, devoid of human emotion and experience, interpret the abstract thoughts, spiritual musings, and philosophical ideas embedded in my work? The results were nothing short of extraordinary.

I selected a few poems from my upcoming books, Assembly of Thoughts and Impressions on Water, and input them into two different AI platforms. The first site generated images based on the textual input of the original poems, creating visual representations that were both surreal and deeply evocative. The second platform, ChatGPT, analyzed the original poems directly, offering its own artificial understanding of the text.

The dual approach allowed me to see how each AI platform responded to the same material in different ways, revealing layers of meaning and form that I hadn’t even considered.

Unexpected Poetic Forms and New Insights

What fascinated me most was how the AI’s interpretations often led to the emergence of unexpected poetic decoding.

These AI-generated interpretations didn’t just echo my thoughts; they expanded them, pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible with poetry. The AI’s ability to pick up on subtle cues and translate them into something new and profound opened up a dialogue between human and machine, where both contributed to the creative process.

Exploring the Future of Poetry and AI

This project has left me with more questions than answers, but that’s what makes it so exciting. What role will AI play in the future of creative expression? Can machines truly understand the depth of human emotion, or will they always be limited to a surface-level analysis? And most intriguingly, what new forms of art and literature will emerge from this collaboration between human and machine?
